oMarking.net is an online application for marking paper-based Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) assessments such as tests and assignments. It performs Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) processing on scanned answer sheets to generate tabular results. Some salient features of oMarking.net are:

  • Requires ordinary internet connection and a browser.
  • No need to download any other app, extension, or software.
  • Cross-platform (runs on Windows, Mac, etc.).

When to use oMarking.net?

The paper-based assessments are useful where computer-based assessments are impossible. For example:

  • When the assessment is conducted in an ordinary classroom with no computer,
  • When the number of computers is less than the number of testees,
  • During national competitions and entry exams, .etc.
So, if the assessment is designed as MCQs, oMarking.net can mark them quickly and accurately.

How to use oMarking.net?

Step 1: Prepare your MCQs question paper. Feel free to use your format. However, we have also prepared a Questions Booklet template (DOCX) for your ease.

Step 2: Download the Marking Guide and Answers Sheet templates from our printables form.

Step 3: Print the Answers Sheet according to the number of learners.

Step 4: Print the Marking Guide and fill in the circles of correct answers.

Step 5: Conduct the assessment as and when it is due. We recommend you either distribute the Instructions (PDF) along with the answers sheet or show them the Instruction Slide (PPTX) on the multimedia projector.

Step 6: Scan all the filled Answer Sheets, including the marking guides. We recommend using a scanner with an Automatic Document Feeder (ADF). oMarking.net only recognizes the following file formats:

  • Image type: JPEG, PNG & TIFF
  • Resolution: 300 dpi

Step 7: Browse all the scanned images inside the "Marking" tab. Once these are analyzed, you will see the "Results" tab for viewing and downloading the results. Note that, in case of any issue, you will see the "Problems" tab instead of "Results.
